Windswept

Windswept is an exquisite island gem! There is so much to love about this property, from its proximity to the beach and all the necessities, to the spacious porches and decks. A quick walk to all your favorite places to eat or the general store, you'll be in the middle of everything without feeling crowded. Instead of being filled with generic "beach decor", Windswept has so much personality. The house used to hold Ocracoke's antique store, and is filled with many treasures from the island's past, yet it doesn't lack the important amenities like space, an outdoor shower for easy beach clean up, wifi, a new refrigerator, and extremely comfortable and large beds! No cheap, thin rental mattresses here - I've never slept so well on vacation. I spent so much time enjoying the porch and patio at night, watching dragonflies or catching a sunrise. A two minute drive, and I was at the beach! This place is ideal for small groups of adults who appreciate having their own spaces, or families ready for an amazing stay on Ocracoke.

I have had the privilege to enjoy this cozy escape on 2 occasions. The house is comfortable, well stocked and located within walking distance to local establishments. The house is tucked under sturdy cedars - blocking any noises. It has a charming porch for those days when it does rain and a spacious open deck for the sunny days and clear evenings that allow stargazing. The kitchen is well stocked with all things needed for a comfortable stay. The bedrooms/bathrooms allow for a family of 4 to have room to spready out, relax and refresh. The beds are comfortable and allow for a wonderful night's rest. There is a back deck on the second floor which allows for beautiful views of the sound. The upstairs is cozy and charming. The master downstairs is accommodating with the full bathroom. Windswept allows for a recharge and have a wonderful base to explore Ocracoke. This property is truly unique and welcoming!

Early morning coffee on the porch, strolls to local restaurants and just down the road to beach access. You are on island time as you spend time on the deck. Located across from the Variety store when you need to pick up something you forgot. Easy walking distance to Howard’s, Jason’s, Back Porch and Pony Island restaurant. Rent bikes and explore the island and don’t forget to stop at Zillie’s for an afternoon glass of wine. Windswept is the perfect step back in time to relax with friends or family!
