Oar House

We love the Oar House. It is small and simple but just what we need. Location is ideal. The pond out back is a huge bonus for wildlife watching!

We enjoyed our stay this year. We took a year off and were glad to get the house again-the addition of the swivel chairs on the back porch was great! We didn't cook at all this time, and instead enjoyed the wonderful restaurants:)See you next year!

Love Oar House and especially the porch and pond! It might be good to let guests know there's no heat in the house.

The bed is extremely comfortable!!! I have vacationed on Ocracoke many, many times, and this is the best mattress ever!

This unit did not have laundry or dishwasher equipment. That was OK.

We were very comfortable during our stay and loved the porch and the view. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly.

We love this sweet spot on Ocracoke. It is perfect for a couple and love that we are walking distance to Springer Point and the Ocracoke Lighthouse.

We have been visiting the island for some 22 years. This unit is an absolute gem! We decided to bring our own bedding but the Blue Heron staff even provided additional salad bowls and are having a new fan/light unit installed in the kitchen, what a great team! The new chairs in the screened porch area are a nice addition.

Already reserved for next year !!! Loved new renovations, especially new deck & outdoor shower. Very special, quiet, beautiful location. Great variety of birds etc. Convenient to everything,

I adore this little cottage. The peaceful porch overlooking the waterway, with birds continuously flying by, and facing west for sunsets, can't be beat. It would be great if there were screens so the windows could be opened.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We loved that we had the little creek behind our cottage since we are avid bird watchers. It was just so perfect. I would have like to have had more blankets but we didn't think to bring one. Mostly summer visitors. Next time we'll remember. We will definitely request this cottage again next time. Also this was our first time with Blue Heron. We have always used Ocracoke Realty but had a few bad experiences so switched to you guys!!!

We loved sitting on that porch having tea, we didn't want to leave it. They may want to repair the bath room door it does not close real good, if that is the only problem with a place I would say it’s pretty darn good.

The upgrade was very nice. We enjoyed the view of the pond!
