From the moment I arrived to Ocracoke Island, I relaxed. I pulled up to Guardian of the Sea ~ love that name. It is the house with the painted mermaid on the surfboard on the front. I entered the house and it was spotless. The home is so beautifully decorated. A beach coastal decor with an added flair of Mermaids and Pirates.The 3 bedrooms are spacious. They each have a Mermaid/Pirate theme along with individual pieces that I fell in love with. I took many pictures so I can search for them for my own home. The 2 bathrooms are spacious. The living room very comfortable with plenty of seating. A large assortment of books and games are provided too. There is a large TV and super comfortable couch. The Kitchen is well equipped and was perfect. There is a laundry room right off the kitchen. A door led from the kitchen onto the deck. I had my coffee out there every morning as I read my book. I finished my days with an outdoor shower which is on the end of the deck. I definitely want an outdoor shower too!I hope to be back soon and would definitely stay here again.

It worked very well for our family of 6. Very well laid out. We appreciated the responsiveness of the host family to our questions and requests in advance of this rental, and we were totally pleased with the rental when we actually saw it and enjoyed it for one week. Pictures on the outside just show a rectangular box; but inside it is a very comfortable home that worked well for our two-generation family. We also liked its location and neighborhood. Very convenient. Near the stores and main drag yet away from crowds with more than adequate privacy.
